Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Database Management, Level 8 (Add-On)

Course Description:

This course will give the student the opportunity to gain an honours degree in advanced aspects of computing, specifically systems and networking.  The course builds on previous levels of knowledge and assumes that students are of a high academic standard.  The core subjects are closely aligned with Microsoft and CISCO technologies and certification enabling the student to learn with the latest tools/technologies and also to achieve industry recognised certifications, much sought after in the workplace.

You will be equipped with the skills to work in any of a number of roles in the IT industry. There is a constant demand for enthusiastic and well qualified database developers and administrators.  You will be qualified for a number of ‘mission critical’ positions including data mining specialist; database administrator; database designer; data warehouse designer; software engineer; computer programmer.

Other entry requirements:

An ordinary degree in computing or equivalent with significant element of database development.   Applicants without a ordinary degree but with significant professional experience may also be considered on an case by case basis.
